About Ablooma

Therapy matching,
reimagined

We started Ablooma because finding a therapist shouldn't feel like a second job.

The Problem

Over 60% of people who decide they need therapy never actually start. Not because they don't want help — but because the process of finding the right therapist is so broken that they give up. They Google. They scroll through Psychology Today. They call offices and leave voicemails that never get returned. They get assigned someone by an algorithm that knows nothing about them. And after all that effort, the first session often reveals a mismatch.

We believe the gap between "I need help" and "I found my person" should be measured in minutes, not months. That's why we built Ablooma.

What We Built

Ablooma is a matchmaking platform that uses a clinically-informed questionnaire to understand what you actually need — not just your zip code and insurance card. We match you with licensed, independent therapists based on over 40 weighted dimensions including presenting concerns, therapeutic approach, communication style, cultural factors, insurance compatibility, and scheduling needs.

Every therapist on the platform has a video introduction so you can see their warmth and style before committing. And every match includes a free 15-minute intro call — no credit card, no intake forms, just a real conversation to see if you click.

Our Principles

Free for patients, always

The person looking for help should never pay for the match. Therapists pay a flat $19/month. That's it.

Therapist independence

We're not a therapy company. Every clinician on Ablooma is an independent practitioner who chose to be here. We never get between you and your therapist.

Privacy as a right

Your data is encrypted, never sold, and you can delete it all with one click. Therapists see what's relevant to matching — never your raw responses.

No ads, no upsells

Ablooma has no advertising, no premium tiers, and no dark patterns. The product is the matchmaking. Nothing else.

The Team

We're a small, remote-first team based in San Francisco. Our backgrounds span clinical psychology, product design, machine learning, and healthcare operations. Our clinical advisory board includes practicing therapists across six specialties who co-designed our questionnaire and matching algorithm.

We're growing. If you're passionate about making mental healthcare more accessible, we'd love to hear from you.
